Madelaine Ellberger received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Yeshiva University and her Masters and Doctoral training in Clinical Social Work from Columbia University and New York University. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital and Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, and her post-graduate training at The Center for Cognitive and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (CCDBT). Madelaine Ellberger has received extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and Prolonged Exposure and Cognitive Processing Therapy for trauma. She has provided treatment to children, adolescents, adults, and families with anxiety, mood, behavioral and personality disorders in a variety of settings, including schools, community mental health clinics, private group practice and hospitals.
Prior to working at the Gold Center, Madelaine Ellberger worked as a senior staff clinician and the director of trauma at CCDBT. At CCDBT, she conducted diagnostic intake evaluations, provided individual CBT and DBT and co-led DBT skills groups for adolescents and adults. Madelaine Ellberger served as an Executive Mindfulness Trainer within CCDBT’s Corporate Mindfulness Training program and led a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction course. In addition to her clinical work, she currently serves as an adjunct professor at Columbia University, NYU and the University of Haifa. Madelaine Ellberger routinely supervises pre-doctoral and post-doctoral trainees in both DBT and evidenced-based trauma treatment. Currently, she is treating children, adolescents and adults in a multi-modal treatment setting. At the Gold Center, she is helping to coordinate the comprehensive DBT Program and co-leading both the adolescent and young adult DBT groups.
